Mandragora Modding PolicyAt Mandragora, we love seeing our community experiment with our games. Whether you're creating a VR adaptation, bringing a game to an unusual device, or exploring entirely new ways to play, we welcome your creativity and encourage you to share your work.
We believe that if you've legally purchased one of our games on Steam, you should be free to experiment with it on your own devices.
To keep things fair for everyone, we ask that you follow a few simple rules.
1. Modify FreelyYou are welcome to modify, experiment with, and adapt your legally purchased Steam copy of our games for personal use.
This includes experimenting with different platforms, hardware, controls, gameplay mechanics, and other modifications.
2. Share Your Mods, Not Our GameYou may freely distribute mods, patches, tools, scripts, and instructions that you have created.
However,
you may not redistribute any files or copyrighted content from the original game, whether separately or bundled with your modifications.
This includes original, modified, extracted, converted, or repackaged game files, assets, code, audio, and other content.
Your mods must be distributed independently of the original game. They may modify or use game files already present on the user's device, but must not include those files themselves.
Anyone wishing to play your mod must obtain their own legitimate copy of the game on Steam.
3. Keep Mods FreeMods and their associated downloads must be completely free.
Selling mods, charging for access, accepting donations or tips related to mods, crowdfunding mod development, or otherwise monetizing mods requires prior written permission from Mandragora.
However,
you are welcome to publish and monetize videos demonstrating your mods, including through advertising revenue on platforms such as YouTube.
4. Credit the Original GameWhenever you publicly distribute, present, or promote a mod, please:
- Clearly identify the original game and include a link to its official Steam store page.
- State that your project is an unofficial community modification.
- Make it clear that Mandragora is not affiliated with or endorsing your modification.
You may reference the game's name to identify what your mod is for, but must not present your project as an official Mandragora product.
5. Respect the Game and Its CommunityMods must not be designed to bypass game ownership requirements, enable piracy, distribute malicious software, or infringe upon the rights of Mandragora or third parties.
You retain ownership of your original contributions, while Mandragora and other respective rights holders retain all rights to the original game and its content.
6. No Official SupportMods are unofficial community projects. Mandragora does not guarantee their compatibility, stability, or continued functionality after game updates.
We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party modifications.
We reserve the right to request the removal of projects that violate this policy.
Keep experimenting! We genuinely enjoy seeing our games taken in unexpected directions. If you've built something interesting, we'd love to see it.
Thank you for being part of our community!
